Improvement projects
are scheduled for October
Bridgeview golf course has a number of improvement projects that are set to
begin in October 2005. One of the projects will have a direct impact on the
playing conditions of the facility and the other will be less known. The first
of the two projects that will be underway is the installation of golf cart paths
around the facility. These paths will enable the golf course to remain open and
allow golf carts all year round. The installation of the paths will begin in
October 2005 and be done in a two year phase. The remainder of the paths will
be installed in October 2006. The second project is the installation of a new
underground culvert on the golf course that runs across number one fairway, down
the number 7 fairway and across the number 9 fairway. This project will take
about 2 weeks from installation to completion and will also begin in mid October
and late November. During the construction phases, the golf course will remain
open for play. Future improvements are being discussed and have a tentative
start time of October 2007. The Bridgeview staff thanks you for your patronage
and support during these improvements.
Tournaments and
special events
Bridgeview golf course and learning center will be hosting a number of different
golf events. Currently there are 2 separate golf tournaments in the planning
stages along with a skills challenge that is similar to the “Big Break” that is
seen on The Golf Channel. Watch the website and the golf shops for more
information on the dates, times, formats, cost and prizes for the events. We
hope to see you there!
Cross Country invitational and Championship
Bridgeview has hosted a the Columbus State Community College Cross Country team
home invitational and will host the 2005 Junior College Championship. During
this race the women’s team will race 3.1 miles while the men will run 5 miles
unless it is the Championship when the men will run 6.2 miles. This race course
is held on the Driving range and on the golf course. The hills of the facility
at the golf course make this race a very challenging and difficult race to win.
In 2002 Bridgeview hosted the Junior College Championship and based on the
conditions, accessibility and treatment that the colleges received, it has been
asked of Bridgeview to host more of the Championships.
